Weighing machines
Are you looking for a weighing machine? Then LWA is the right place for you. We have been manufacturing all kinds of weighing machines for over 35 years. To help you determine what kind of weighing machine you need, we would first like to explain a little about weighing machines in general.
There are two main types of weighing machines on the market: linear weighers and multiheads. To give you a clear picture of the differences, it is necessary to first explain how the machines work.
LINEAR WEIGHING MACHINE
In a linear weigher, the product is transported via vibrating chutes or a belt. This depends on the product and the desired speed. In a linear weigher with vibrating chutes, the product first enters the hopper, from where it is transported to the weighing tray by means of vibrating chutes. In a linear belt weigher, the product is transported from the hopper to the weighing tray by means of a hygienic conveyor belt. The weighing cycle consists of a coarse dosing phase up to approximately 80% of the set weight, followed by a fine dosing phase to achieve optimum accuracy. Linear weighers have one weighing tray per weighing head, where the entire portion is weighed. For greater capacity, a weigher with multiple heads is available.
MULTIHEAD WEIGHING MACHINE
With the multihead weigher, the product is transported to the storage hoppers via a central vibrating top cone and vibrating chutes. These discharge into the weighing hoppers, where the high-precision load cells determine the weight. Each weighing hopper contains approximately a quarter of the set weight, and the weigher calculates the best combination that is closest to the target weight. These selected hoppers are opened and come together via the central outlet funnel before ending up in the packaging machine.

The table below shows the advantages of a linear weighing machine and a multihead weigher.

AVAILABLE WEIGHING MACHINE BRANDS
Laurijsen WeegAutomaten sells weighing machines from three different brands: NewWeigh, Combimat and Atoma.
NEWWEIGH
NewWeigh linear weighing machines are developed and manufactured entirely in-house. This flexibility ensures that each linear weigher is customised to the customer’s specifications. This allows for optimal output and accuracy with a linear weigher.
COMBIMAT
Combimat multihead and linear weighers are characterised by their excellent price-quality ratio, solid construction and a wide variety of different models. From the range of linear weighers for semi-automatic applications to the 14-head multihead that can perform 120 weighings per minute, there is a suitable solution for almost every application.
ATOMA
The Atoma linear weigher, with more than 850 weighing heads supplied by LWA, has more than proven itself in the market. Originally built in Germany, these machines are a model of German solidity and quality, and with our large stock of parts and machines, they guarantee years of reliable production.
